SEX TAPE PHOTOS of Zimbabwean BBA Housemate's Sex Tape Leak #BBATheChase

***PARENTAL AND VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED**

One of the housemates representing Zimbabwe in the ongoing BBA – The Chase, Pokello Nare has been hit by a sex tape scandal a few days after she entered the BBA house.

According to our source investigations, the said sex tape was acted and recorded by Pokello and her boyfriend Desmond Chideme also known as Stunner who is popular urban grooves artiste.

Stunner is famous for his role in a leaked sex tape in which he had sex with his socialite girlfriend Pokello Nare. In the video, he is seen having sex without protection with the girl that he is not married to. The 'Godo' hit maker also went public as he got circumcised in a bid to promote education on HIV/AIDS and how to prevent the Aids scourge.

Apparently the sex tape was reportedly shot at his Avondale home with his girlfriend Pokello Nare. Desmond Chideme is his actual name and he's a "Zimbabwean urban groover" – probably why we can't find the tape because it would be hosted on a foreign site and written in another language – if popularity arises then we will seek further for the tape.

Harare-born Pokello has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Communications and owns a luxury shoe boutique. She enjoys pasta, spaghetti bolognaise and prawn cocktail.

She describes herself as "dynamic, captivating, intelligent, beautiful & hilarious" and says that the best thing about her is that she's head-strong and a woman of real substance. "When I speak, I speak with depth and confidence," she says. She admires people who are selfless and filled with humility and modesty, disliking disloyalty and betrayal.

Asked what viewers can expect from her, she says: "I am beautiful, intelligent, controlling and entertaining. I am funny and witty and I say the most humorous things.

Pokello says if she wins the USD 300 000, she'll buy a big house for her son and herself, send him to a full-time soccer academy in London and invest in her business.

Nigeria passes anti-gay bill with penalties up to 14 years in jail

Nigeria's House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday to criminalise gay marriage, same-sex "amorous relationships" and even membership of a gay rights group, defying pressure from Western powers to respect gay and lesbian rights.

The bill, which contains penalties of up to 14 years in prison, passed Nigeria's Senate in late-2011 but President Goodluck Jonathan must approve it before it becomes law.

Two similar bills have been proposed since 2006 but this is the first time one has passed through the national assembly.

A spokesman for the presidency did not respond to a request for comment.

As in much of sub-Saharan Africa, anti-gay sentiment and persecution of homosexuals is rife in Nigeria, so the new legislation is likely to be popular.

Under existing Nigerian federal law, sodomy is punishable by jail, but this bill legislates for a much broader crackdown on homosexuals and lesbians, who already live a largely underground existence.

While European countries, most recently France, have moved to offer same-sex couples the same legal rights enjoyed by heterosexuals, many African countries are seeking to tighten laws against homosexuality.

Britain and some other Western countries have threatened to cut aid, a threat which has helped hold back or scupper such legislation in aid-dependent nations like Uganda and Malawi.

They have little leverage over Nigeria, whose budget is funded by its 2-million-barrel-per-day oil business.

"Persons who enter into a same-sex marriage contract, or civil union commit an offence and are each liable on conviction to a term of 14 years in prison," the bill says.

"Any person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organisations or directly or indirectly makes public show of same-sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offence and shall each be liable on conviction to a term of 10 years in prison."

Will Smith disgusted after interviewer compares the Smiths with the Kardashians

In a new interview with New York Magazine's Vulture, actors Will & Jaden Smith were asked about the similarities between the Smiths and the Kardashians, a question that father Will didn't like one bit.

The interviewer initially asks Jaden about his rumored relationship with Kim's little sister Kylie Jenner, mentioning that "the Kardashians have treated their fame as a family business." Will and Jaden are asked if they see themselves as similar or different. Will started laughing at the question and held up his hand for Jaden not to speak.

"I'm trying to understand," Jaden responds.

"Don't," Will instructs him. "You know, he's never had to, to deal with those kinds of questions.""Well, forget the Kardashians," the interviewer backtracks. "Maybe you could just…""So how do you think your life is similar or un-similar to people's names in Calabasas?" Will responds in a "mimicking" voice."For our family, the entire structure of our life, our home, our business relationships—the entire purpose is for everyone to be able to create in a way that makes them happy."Fame is almost an inconsequential by-product of what we're really trying to accomplish. We are trying to put great things into the world, we're trying to have fun, and we're trying to become the greatest versions of ourselves in the process of doing things we love."So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less than desirable for us."

Miguel goes on Twitter rant, declares ‘black people are the most judgmental people in the world’

R&B singer Miguel is still enjoying his surge in popularity since impressing Kelly Clarkson at the Grammy Awards in February and crashing his body onto a woman at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this month, but now the "Adorn" singer may be turning a few people off.

On his Twitter page on Monday, Miguel, 27, boldly announced that black people are "the most judgmental people in the world."

"Im proud of my heritage but honestly, black people are the most judgmental people in the world," he wrote. "S--ts sad man."

we've been conditioned, pre-programmed to hate ourselves

— Miguel (@MiguelUnlimited) May 27, 2013
"We've been conditioned, pre-programmed to hate ourselves."

Though the singer is of black and Mexican heritage, his comments were met with a lot of Twitter backlash from the black community.

According to the Urban Daily, Miguel's string of tweets all started in response to criticism from a Twitter user who accused him of selling his soul.

"Don't be an idiot," he initially responded to the person before deleting that tweet. The rant that ensued broadened the conversation to include an entire race of people.

"That's why I appreciate those who choose to think and act for themselves regardless of ethnicity or culture," Miguel continued. "The problem can not be fixed until the problem is recognized. Not everyone is the same thank goodness. And obviously, I love all my fans."

While some fans agreed with his declaration, others concluded his tweets were adorned with irony. Perhaps that's why the "Sure Thing" singer felt the need to clarify.

Of course EVERYONE is judgemental. I just PERSONALLY believe WE are the most critical of our own

— Miguel (@MiguelUnlimited) May 27, 2013
"Of course everyone is judgemental," he added. "I just personally believe we are the most critical of our own."

Lewandowski will join Bayern this summer, says agent

The Poland international's representative has revealed that his client will follow Mario Gotze to the Champions League winners ahead of next season

Cezary Kucharski, one of Robert Lewandowski's agents, has revealed that the striker will leave Borussia Dortmund for Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

The Poland international has long been linked with a move to the Champions League winners and his representative has made it clear that the deal could be completed shortly.

"Robert will join Bayern this summer. There is no point in pretending that he will not move to Bayern. Robert wants to leave and that is what will happen," Kucharski told TVN24.

"It is a matter of time. It could be a done deal within a week or within two to three weeks. We are waiting for a signal from the club. We are working on this deal.

"Robert needs a new challenge. He needs other people around him, a new coach and new motivation."

Maik Barthel, Lewandowski's other agent, claimed earlier this season that the 24-year-old has already agreed terms with another club, prompting Bayern to issue a statement denying that they had reached an agreement with the striker back in April.

Nevertheless, Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes suggested at the weekend that Lewandowski is destined to follow in the footsteps of Mario Gotze and leave BVB for the Allianz Arena side.

Lewandowski has a contract with Dortmund until June 2014, yet he's widely expected to leave the club this summer following his refusal to sign a new deal.

He had also caught the attention of clubs such as Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid, but his next destination seems to be Munich following Kucharski's latest comments.

We would implement whitepaper on UniAbuja - Ogbemudia

Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Abuja. A former military governor of  the old  Mid Western  Region and the former Governor of  old Bendel State. He speaks on the council's intervention in the ongoing crisis at the University of Abuja.

How do you view your appointment as the Pro-chancellor of the University of Abuja?

I was in the hospital in the  United Kingdom  when the announcement  was made  and when the information reached me  that the Federal  Government  in its infinite wisdom  appointed me  as the Pro-chancellor  and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Abuja. It was with mixed feelings that I received the information. I had thought  after nursing  the University of Benin and spending some of my time  at Ambrose Ali University, that I have had a clean break  with university  administration. But I  saw this as a serious challenge. A challenge that I have accepted  and  I am determined to make a success of, and make the University of Abuja  a reference point. It is going to be the best  in knowledge , the best in facilities and the best in environment.

There have been series of crisis at the University of Abuja, were you able to find out from the stakeholders especially  the academic staff and students what these crisis are?

I  presided over  the first council meeting  on the 25th of  April 2013, and just about two hours  on the seat, news came to me that  the Academic Staff Union of the Universities [ASUU] of the university  was going on a two weeks warning strike. I immediately suspended  the council meeting and invited  the ASUU  executives  for discussion. We spoke  for about three hours  at the end of which  they maintained that  the decision was not theirs  but from the National Secretariat of ASUU  and that what they wanted  was for the federal government to release the white paper on the Presidential    Visitation  Panel set up by the President  or government  last year. I have not seen the white paper  and I have not seen  the report itself, but that notwithstanding I visited  the National Universities Commission  [NUC]  they too said they had not got it but they promised to help.
A team of the council  was  to see the Minister  of Education but unfortunately the minister had travelled so the paper was not available and they also promised to help. Efforts was made to reach the Secretary of the Government of the Federation , we were also told that the paper was not ready. They are still on strike but I believe that after the two weeks and after some time the paper will be ready for them. On the issue of the embattled  Vice Chancellor ,  ASUU said I should have sacked the Vice Chancellor as soon as I entered the place , but there must be a reason for sacking the chief executive of an institution  like the University of Abuja. We are waiting for the report, whatever government says in the white paper we will implement it to the letter, but until then    and the situation arises  we cannot do what the people want us to do in respect of the chief executive. So far we have been working with him, he has cooperated with the council and so we wait for the white paper.

Are you overwhelmed by the crisis in the university?

I must say  that the enormity  of the problems  or challenges  of Abuja university  is quite high and that notwithstanding  we are grateful to  Mr. President for finding us worthy  of this appointment  and we not going to let him down.

You have been involved in university administration in the country for a long time now but no Nigerian university is among the top hundred universities in the world. What would you attribute to that and how can people like you do something about it?

There are many reasons why no Nigerian university is among the top hundred universities in the world  and it is for that reason we are trying to implement some of the things at the University of Abuja so that it can take its rightful place among universities in the world. I must say that  for a university to attract the attention  of the world  it must be found to have done sufficient  research work and gathered knowledge  that others will want to benefit from. The environment in Nigerian universities is not conducive enough and I think that there is need  for the government of Nigeria  to pay more attention to research work in the universities.

How can we improve on the standard of education generally in the country?

I think the experts  on education should be able to tell us,  but as an observer  I noticed that  our education from the primary level  is not properly organized. The teachers are not properly trained  and the students are not been looked after in the proper way and the parents are not also helping the teachers. So there is need for the parents and the teachers to meet to work out the modalities  for an improved educational system and the federal government should take interest in it, although one cannot blame the federal government because it is  states that are responsible for primary and secondary education among other things.

Bayern Munich Vs Borussia Dortmund: 2013 Champions League Final

German giants go head to head at Wembley in the Champions League Final.

The home of English football will reverberate to the roar of German voices on Saturday when Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund collide at Wembley Stadium in the first all-Bundesliga final in Champions League history.

It is only two years since Barcelona confirmed their status as Europe's pre-eminent side by outclassing Manchester United in the same arena to win the 2011 tournament, but the way that Bayern and Dortmund have torn through this season's competition suggests a new continental order is asserting itself.

Bayern left Barca in ruins with an incredible 7-0 aggregate win in the semi-finals, while Dortmund's 4-1 defeat of Real Madrid in the same round left the football world open-mouthed in amazement.

Irrespective of the result, it is certain to be a monumental evening for German football, but the two sides approach the game driven by very different motivations.

For Bayern, the game represents an opportunity to make amends for painful final defeats in 2010 and, in particular, 2012, when a heart-breaking penalty shoot-out loss to Chelsea was played out before a crowd of horrified and disbelieving fans at their own Allianz Arena.

Dortmund, the 1997 champions, yearn to inflict further misery upon Bayern, who have gravely undermined their opponents' attempts to establish themselves as creditable long-term rivals by snatching away star playmaker Mario Goetze in a sensational 37 million euros (£31.7 million, $47.8 million) transfer.

A hamstring injury to Goetze has reduced the risk of diplomatic embarrassment on Saturday, but Bayern are also believed to lead the race for Dortmund's Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who put Madrid to the sword with an extraordinary four-goal haul in the first leg of their semi-final.

Boy, 15, Arrested, Charged With Deaths of Brothers, 4 and 10

This tragic story highlights the need for parents to be diligent and stop leaving small children in the care of older siblings.

A 15-year-old Utah boy is in custody and charged with the deaths of his younger brothers, Roland Martin reports. The youngest boy's body was found by their mother when she returned home, according to police.
The 10-year-old's body was found by police officers who responded to the home.

The boys died from traumatic injuries, according to Sgt. Susan Poulsen.

Police put out the teen's picture and name as they searched for him Wednesday night. The teen was located shortly before midnight. His father, an active military serviceman, was not in town at the time of the murders. He and his wife are said to be devastated.

I Will Personally End Importation Of Fuel In Nigeria - Dangote

Africa's richest man and President of Dangote Group Alhaji Aliko Dangote yesterday promised to end fuel importation in Nigeria in four years when his proposed refinery comes on stream.

Work would commence later in the year on the proposed 400,000 barrels per day refinery which is expected to cost $4.25 billion, to be located in Ondo State, Dangote said in an interview after the Annual General Meeting of Dangote Cement in Abuja. Dangote group would provide half of the money while the rest would be sourced from two foreign banks and Nigerian banks.

"We hope to start something by end of the year. We have put down 50 percent of the money. We have secured $4.25 billion from two foreign banks and the rest from local banks," Dangote said.
Dangote is worth over $16 billion in net assets, according to Forbes Magazine, making him the richest on the continent.

He said while his investing in Nigeria is an ongoing business, he hopes to top it to over $20 billion in the next three years. His investment outside Nigeria is in excess of $5 billion.

Speaking on security threat to businesses, Dangote said his business was not significantly affected. He said while the government is doing a lot in terms of tackling the security situation, people should support the government to make sure "they do what is right instead of confusing them and making noise all over the place."

"In the north east and also parts of north west, we would be creating about 120,000 jobs, which has never happened in the history of Nigeria.

This is what we intend to do in sugar alone. We thank government for bringing up this new sugar policy," he said.

One Direction Sweeps Awards for Most Popular Social Media Stars

British boy band One Direction has swept the inaugural awards recognizing the most popular people in social media globally, coming top in four out of 10 categories at a star-studded ceremony in Singapore.

One Direction was named most popular music group, most popular UK musicians, most popular in the UK, and most popular in west Europe, at the Social Star Awards, but did not show up to collect their prizes, sending their thanks by videolink.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber won the award for best solo artist, Selena Gomez for most popular actor, Ellen DeGeneres for top TV show, and Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo for most popular sports star.

The awards highlight viral sensations and people who garner the most social media attention globally based on data from Singapore-based Starcount that tracks the social media activity of 1.7 billion people across 11 social media networks.

American actress Jessica Alba and "Entourage" star Jeremy Piven hosted Thursday night's ceremony that ended a 24-hour marathon of 288 online awards awarded in categories ranging from best finance brand to top Indonesia actor.

"It is all about the most popular people on the planet ... Everyday we are sharing, liking, viewing, tweeting and what our awards show does is celebrate the superstars of social media," Starcount CEO Paul Morrison told reporters ahead of the awards.

Many of the award winners were absent from the prize giving but the void was filled with live performances by South Korean rapper Psy, American singer Carly Rae Jepsen, SkyBlu from electronic dance duo LMFAO, and U.S. rockers Aerosmith.

R&B singer-songwriter Eric Benet hailed the impact of social media.

"If you plan on being relevant and have a sustainable career in this day and age social media is about as important as TV was ... in the 1950s," he told Reuters television.

"Way back in the '90s when I started back in the music industry we would have to rely on our PR department and our record label but now in this day and age we, the artist, can take command of our career. It's awesome."

Over the past few months, the literary world and social media has been abuzz since the release of Nigerian-Ghanaian author Taiye Selasi's debut novel Ghana Must Go in March 2013.

The Yale American Studies graduate's book covers a lot riveting subject matters including cultural displacement, love, death, racism, sibling rivalry, bulimia, and pedophilia. In a chat with Scotsman, Taiye shared that she wrote the book in different countries including Sweden, Nigerian, Ghana, Denmark, India and Italy.

Read the Synopsis for "Ghana Must Go"

Kweku Sai is dead. A renowned surgeon and failed husband, he succumbs suddenly at dawn outside his home in suburban Accra. The news of Kweku's death sends a ripple around the world, bringing together the family he abandoned years before. Ghana Must Go is their story. Electric, exhilarating, beautifully crafted, Ghana Must Go is a testament to the transformative power of unconditional love, from a debut novelist of extraordinary talent.

Moving with great elegance through time and place, Ghana Must Go charts the Sais' circuitous journey to one another. In the wake of Kweku's death, his children gather in Ghana at their enigmatic mother's new home. The eldest son and his wife; the mysterious, beautiful twins; the baby sister, now a young woman: each carries secrets of his own. What is revealed in their coming together is the story of how they came apart: the hearts broken, the lies told, the crimes committed in the name of love. Splintered, alone, each navigates his pain, believing that what has been lost can never be recovered—until, in Ghana, a new way forward, a new family, begins to emerge.

Ghana Must Go is at once a portrait of a modern family, and an exploration of the importance of where we come from to who we are. In a sweeping narrative that takes us from Accra to Lagos to London to New York, Ghana Must Go teaches that the truths we speak can heal the wounds we hide.

The book retails for $ 17.56 on Amazon.

Actress Amanda Bynes Arrested for Possession of Marijuana

U.S. actress Amanda Bynes was arrested in New York City on Thursday after she allegedly threw a bong out the window of a midtown Manhattan apartment building, a police official said.

New York police received a call on Thursday night from an employee at the 47th Street high-rise building where Bynes lives, said NYPD spokesman Detective Brian Sessa.

The employee reported that someone was smoking marijuana in the lobby.

When police arrived, they were directed to Bynes' apartment, where the actress invited police in, Sessa said.

Officers detected a strong smell of marijuana in the apartment and observed the bong – a tube-shaped water pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana – in the apartment, according to Sessa.

Bynes grabbed the bong and threw it out the window, he said. The actress lives on the 36th floor, The New York Daily News reported.

Bynes, 27, a former child star who had her own TV comedy sketch show on Nickelodeon at age 13, was taken into custody and charged with tampering with physical evidence, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of marijuana.

She pleaded no contest earlier this month in California to driving with a suspended license, according to The Los Angeles Times, one of a number of recent run-ins with the law.

FG releases N200bn for second quarter projects

The Federal Government on Thursday released N200bn for the second quarter capital projects.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, confirmed the release in a statement issued by her Special Adviser on Communications, Mr. Paul Nwabuikwu.

The N200bn brings the total capital release for both the first and second quarters to N600bn.

The 2013 budget made provision for an aggregate expenditure of N4.987tn, representing an increase of 6.2 per cent over the N4.697tn appropriated for 2012.

This is made up of N387.97bn for statutory transfers; N591.76bn for debt servicing; and N2.38tn for recurrent (non-debt) expenditure, of which N1.717tn is the provision for personnel cost, while overhead cost is to gulp N208.9bn.

Similarly, a total of N1.62tn was provided for capital expenditure in addition to the N273.5bn budgeted for the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme.

The gross federally collectible revenue is projected at N11.34tn, of which the total revenue available for the Federal Government's budget is N4.1tn.

According to the statement, the prompt release of funds will ensure progress in the execution of capital projects captured in the budget.

Of the N400bn released for the first quarter, Okonjo-Iweala said N335bn had been cash-backed, while 65 per cent of the cash-backed portion had been utilised by ministries, departments and agencies of government.

The statement also said that a total of N72.7bn had so far been paid to the Federal Ministry of Power to cover various items necessary for the implementation of the Power Roadmap.

The amount, she said, included the sum of N45bn paid to workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria as part of the power privatisation programme and the sum of N5bn paid for the Multi Year Tariff Order.

"Other beneficiaries include the Power Ministry headquarters, Power Holding Company of Nigeria, National Rural Electrification Agency, National Electricity Regulatory Commission, National Power Training Institute, National Electricity Liability Management Limited/GTE and Bulk Trader," the minister said.

A breakdown of the N72.7bn shows that N59.089bn was paid in the first quarter, while N13.733bn has so far been paid for the second quarter.

President Goodluck Jonathan, who signed the 2013 budget amidst reservation, had sent an amendment supplementary version to the National Assembly to address grey areas in the one earlier passed by lawmakers.

The grey areas include reduction in personnel cost; reallocation of capital expenditure by lawmakers and reallocation of the budget for the SURE-P.

The Finance minister had in a presentation on the 2013 budget said the government remained focused on critical economic and social sectors driven largely by private sector activities.

To achieve this, she had said N497bn was allocated to key infrastructure, including power, works, transport, aviation, gas pipelines; the Federal Capital Territory; human capital development i.e. education and health, N705bn; and agriculture/water resources, N175bn.

Okonjo-Iweala had said, "We recognise that Nigeria's infrastructure deficit remains one of the binding constraints to growth in the economy. Therefore, our strategy is to prioritise infrastructure investments in the budget, and also to leverage additional external financing for infrastructure investments in the country.

"For example, the budget 2013 has some important infrastructure projects in the transportation sector, such as the second Niger Bridge."

Nigeria, Ghana Presidents To Rebuild Achebe’s Primary School

FROM LEFT: FORMER VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF ALEX EKWUEME; REPRESENTATIVE OF THE PRESIDENT OF LIBERIA, PROF. AL-HASSAN CONTEH; PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA, MR JOHN MAHAMA; PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday enjoined all Nigerians to put all hands on deck to transform the country.Jonathan made the call while delivering a goodwill message at the funeral service for the late Prof Chinua Achebe at St. Philip's Anglican Church, Ogidi near Onitsha, Anambra.
He said that Achebe in his books philosophically reflected on the ills bedevilling the progress of the country and that the present generation of politicians, business moguls, and thinkers should find a way to change negative attitudes for the progress of the country.
"That means that those of us who are political leaders, the business moguls, I have seen quite a number of them who have business empires; our religious leaders, our traditional leaders, all of us must work hard to change this country.
"So that when our grand children like Achebe junior would write, they would say there is a country.
"And one thing for those of you who had read this book that I would like to appreciate Achebe is that, if you listen to what I have read he was overtly critical about the elections.
"But one thing he appreciated at least is that the 2011 election had seen significant improvement. That means that we can change.
"What we inherited about the 60ths that Achebe wrote as far back as 1958 about the things falling apart, feeling that we have lost our moral values and he criticized the elections that happened in 1959 and so on.
"If we can fix our electoral process and we the politicians, believe that this is our country and we don't have any other country than Nigeria; then work together, we would work with the religious leaders, work with the traditional leaders, work with the businessmen and women; we can have a country that our grand-children would write in their own books – there is a country."

Jonathan, however, commiserated with the family of Achebe especially the wife, Prof Chinwe Achebe; while thanking the various international dignitaries that graced the occasion.
The President later announced that he and President John Mahama of Ghana would rebuild the dilapidated St. Philips' Primary School, Ogidi where Achebe attended his primary education.
In his remarks, President John Mahama of Ghana, said that Prof Achebe's life was a great inspiration to Africans.
Mahama said that Achebe would live-on not just only in his literary works but for his forthrightness and candidness to issues of life as it affected his people, his country and the African World.
"It is my greatest regret that I made a personal acquaintance of such a great man in the very sun-set of his life.

"Prof. Achebe was a great man; unfortunately the circle of life dictates that everything and everyone that is born must also eventually die.
"It is what you do between those two events, it is what you make of life that you have been given that leaves a mark on people and defines how you would be remembered.
"I am grateful to God for the life of Prof. Chinua Achebe" President Mahama remarked.

Senate, House of Reps ratify Jonathan’s state of emergency declaration

The Senate had on Tuesday, in a unanimous decision approved President Goodluck Jonathan's request on the declaration of state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States.

Senate President, David Mark, said the approval followed "an extensive discussion" in a closed session with 100 senators in attendance.

He noted that the chamber moved that all democratic structures be retained while the Federal Government ensures that it will fully handle the operations of the army.

"We would like to support the Federal Government in this proclamation of the state of emergency in the three states." he said.

"We also would like to remind the president that the Federal Government must fund the operations there properly and adequately."

"As the operation is going on, relief and all medical materials should be as quickly as possible, moved to the area so that the people can benefit from government's presence."

"We want to emphasise very emphatically that all the democratic structures must be left in place and must be allowed to operate fully and actively."

"They must also be involved in all the efforts that the Federal Government is putting up to bring this ugly situation to an end."

Mark said that the Armed Forces must also be instructed to ensure that they operated within the ambits of the law.

"We also would like to emphasise that the Armed Forces are issued a proper code of conduct, where they are humane and benevolent and make sure that all citizens are treated with utmost respect," he said.

Mark urged the amnesty committee to intensify efforts towards bringing the crisis situation to an end, explaining that government adopted the emergency rule option as a last resort.

He said: "We are conscious of the fact that there was lawlessness, there was anarchy and mayhem in most of the places that are involved in the declaration of state of emergency.

"We appreciate the fact that government must take every possible step to bring this to an end as quickly as possible and with minimal loss of lives and materials."

The Senate president expressed concern that in some of the local government areas, the insurgents were "flying their own flag, collecting taxes and running a parallel and illegal government."

Mark also urged other states not involved in the operation to cooperate with the government in order to bring the situation to an end.

Also briefing newsmen after the plenary, the Senate spokesman, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, said that senators in the closed session decided to put aside
party differences and took "a decision that was in the best interest of the nation.

"In our closed session, we spoke frankly with one other and we all agreed that the interest of Nigeria comes before any political leaning.

"This informed the unanimous vote of the Senators."

Abaribe explained that the Senate adopted the voice vote method to protect some senators from suffering any harm by uninformed members of the public.

On funding arrangement for the military operations, Abaribe gave the assurance that the Senate would give prompt approval to any request for additional funding of the military operations.

Meanwhile, members of the House of Representatives also on Tuesday passed a resolution endorsing the May 14 state of emergency declared by President Goodluck Jonathan.

During the session, the members deliberated on the Gazetted copy of the proclamation of the state of emergency sent to the House by Jonathan.

The Speaker, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, who read the proclamation on the floor of the House, said that the resolution was in line with the 1999 Constitution as amended.

According to Tambuwal, the constitution specified that two-third attendance of members was required to approve the proclamation.

About 253 members were in attendance at the executive session

The speaker said that the House considered the approval clause by clause with some amendments.

According to one of the amendments, the President shall transmit proclamation of emergency rule to the National Assembly after three days of the proclamation.

Tambuwal promised that the House would give total support to the security operatives, but cautioned them to respect law abiding Nigerians.

He urged the insurgents to accept the hand of goodwill extended to them by the Federal government.

The House also constituted a six-man conference committee to work with the Senate to harmonise the proclamation.

Homosexuality in Imo State’s Government House?

Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere is back on the front burner of discourse.

In a report by Societynowng, an aggrieved woman just hit town with details of how he allegedly wrecked her marriage with sexual affairs with her husband.

The lady is identified as Sandra and her estranged hubby revealed to be Hon Uchenna Isidore Rajis. Rajis is said to be the ex caretaker chairman of Njaba local government Area of the state. The accuser claimed her discovery of the 'un becoming affair' between her husband and the newly appointed deputy governor- and refusal to tolerate it resulted in Rajis abandoning her and her three months old son, Igwe.

She claimed confirmation of the relationship between the duo occurred in January 2012 at disney hotel in Owerri. Sandra claim this was after her traditional wedding ceremony to Rajis on November 26, 2011 in Owerri.

According to the estranged wife, the couple lodged at the hotel after the traditional ceremony as a sort of honeymoon. She took permission to go visit her 'village' and on her return stumbled on the spectacle that turned the marriage upside down.

She returned and met the door locked- but secured entry only to behold the sight of 'Prince Madumere, who was then Chief of staff to Imo state Governor and her hubby came out of the bathroom naked and sweating'.

Sandra maintained no reasonable explanation could be proferred for the development. She further furnished they were specifically lodged at 'the camp David apartment of the hotel' when the incident happened.

The aggrieved ex-wife claimed she has chosen to go public with the disclosure, and do what is right as part of moves to fight for her son's right- and make Rajis live up to his responsibility. She claims alleged sexual partner, Deputy Governor Madumere just sponsored Rajis wedding to yet another woman- while he refuses to care for his abandoned son.

Star DJ Kills Wife for Having Affair with his Wife

Seriously?!
Reports claim that Star FM DJ Munyaradzi Mlimo, aka DJ Munya has been arrested for kidnapping and killing a man on the suspicion of engaging in an extra-marital affair with his wife.

The DJ reportedly forced the man to drink poison. The Zimbabwean radio personality was arrested in Harare following the disappearance of the man, who was identified as Magorimbo.

DJ Munya was yesterday still assisting the police with investigations. The matter is being handled by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department's Homicide section.

Sources close to the investigations said some time this month, DJ Munya suspected that his wife who works at PSMAS was having an affair with Magorimbo, a workmate.

Sometime last week he reportedly confronted Magorimbo at his workplace.

"A few days later Magorimbo went missing and a report was made to the police. Magorimbo went missing for two days, leading to the arrestof DJ Munya on allegations of kidnapping," said the source.

On Saturday Magorimbo was dumped near his flat in the city while he was unconscious and was taken to St Anne's Hospital for treatment.

Magorimbo died yesterday morning and it is believed that he was forced to drink an undisclosed pesticide.

His body is still at the hospital''s mortuary awaiting post mortem.

National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi yesterday said he could not comment as he was out of town.

Mandela’s Daughters Sue Their Father

Johannesburg – Nelson Mandela's daughters are suing him for the rights to his artworks and control of his millions, The Star reported on Monday.

According to the newspaper, Zenani and Makaziwe Mandela intend fighting an April 2004 Johannesburg High Court order which gave Mandela the right to instruct Ismail Ayob, his then lawyer, to stop managing his financial, personal and legal affairs.

The court order barred Ayob from selling any of Mandela's artworks.

The Star reported that Mandela's current lawyer, Bally Chuene, filed an affidavit last week in response to a lawsuit brought by the sisters, who are represented by Ayob.

Last month the sisters filed papers asking for Chuene, George Bizos SC and Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale to remove themselves as directors and trustees of the Mandela Trust and as directors of Harmonieux and Magnifique (Pty) Ltd with immediate effect.

In his replying affidavit, Chuene reportedly said he, Bizos and Sexwale had, in 2011, refused to release the trust's money to the daughters without a legal justification.

The Star reported that Chuene was adamant Ayob was behind the women's court action.
