Oritsejafor, Okotie War of Words Escalates

Okotie to manage his home and keep to biblical principles of one man, one wife.

The association was reacting to the demand by Okotie that its President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, should resign over the alleged involvement of his aircraft in the controversial $9.3m smuggled into South Africa by two Nigerians and an Israeli.
Okotie, had in a statement by Okotie on his church's Facebook page, said, "Considering the collateral damage Pastor Ayo's close relationship with the President has done to the Christian community, it is fit and proper for the Pastor to resign immediately as CAN President to salvage what remains of the battered image of the association.

"This is without prejudice to the on-going investigation on the matter. Denials of his culpability by the Federal Government, CAN officials and his own recent defense, does nothing to reduce the moral burden this whole saga places on his shoulders. As the titular leader of Christians in Nigeria, there's now a serious crisis of confidence on his leadership and he ought to respond to it by resigning from his exalted position."

But the Director of National Issues in CAN, Mr. Sunny Oibe, said that Okotie was looking for popularity through Oritsejafor.
He said, "Is Chris Okotie a Christian? How many wives has he?

He should go and sort out himself. Even the government has exonerated Pastor Ayo of all the allegations. So, who is Okotie? Well, it is laughable if Chris Okotie should demand that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor should resign as President of CAN.

"Chris Okotie should remove the log in his eyes before he begins to see a peck in somebody's eyes. Pastor Ayo had a soaring integrity before he was elected the President of CAN. Who elected Chris Okotie to become the spokesperson of Christians in Nigeria?

"CAN will not like to join issues with Okotie because doing that will amount to making him popular. He is looking for popularity which he doesn't have through Pastor Ayo and he is not going to get it."

17 yr old Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi win 2014 Nobel Peace prize

Malala Yousafzai
Pakistani child education activist Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian child rights campaigner, have jointly won the Nobel Peace Prize.
At the age of just 17, Malala is the youngest recipient of the prize.
The teenager was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen in October 2012 for campaigning for girls' education. She now lives in Birmingham in the UK.
The Nobel committee praised the pair's "struggle against the suppression of children and young people".
Mr Satyarthi, 60, has maintained the tradition of Mahatma Gandhi and headed various forms of peaceful protests, "focusing on the grave exploitation of children for financial gain," the committee said at the announcement in Oslo.
Reacting to the news, he told TV news channel CNN-IBN: "It's an honour to all those children still suffering in slavery, bonded labour and trafficking."

Malala first came to attention in 2009 after she wrote an anonymous diary for BBC Urdu about life under Taliban rule in north-west Pakistan.
She was shot when gunmen boarded her school bus in the Swat Valley.
She has since recovered from the attack and has remained in the public eye, publishing an autobiography and addressing the UN General Assembly.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated Malala Yousafzai, calling her the "pride" of his country.
"Her achievement is unparalleled and unequalled. Girls and boys of the world should take the lead from her struggle and commitment," he said in a statement.
Malala was named one of Time magazine's most influential people in 2013, and awarded the EU's prestigious Sakharov human rights prize that year.
This year's record number of 278 Nobel Peace Prize nominees included Pope Francis and Congolese gynaecologist Denis Mukwege, although the full list was kept a secret.
Former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta had also been tipped as favourites for the award.

The absence of Kim Jong-un at the anniversary of the founding of the ruling Workers' Party has further fuelled speculation as to the whereabouts of the North Korean leader.
Kim has not been seen in public for a month, prompting wide-ranging rumours that the overweight leader has finally succumbed to his addiction to Swiss cheese, is suffering from gout, or has even been moved out of the state capital after an attempted coup.
The 31-year-old apparently did not attend the 69th anniversary of the founding of North Korea's Workers' Party on Friday, a major event in the state calendar. An official state media dispatch listed senior government, military and party officials who paid their respects at the ceremony, but not Kim.
It said a flower basket with Kim's name on it was placed before statues of his father and grandfather, both of whom also ruled North Korea. State media said earlier that the might of the party "is growing stronger under

The Chinese Embassy in Nigeria has denied visas to students of Ekiti State University citing Ebola as the reason despite the World Health Organization declaring Nigeria an Ebola free country.
The students were invited to participate in ENACTUS 2014 (Entrepreneurial Action Us), an international competition of young entrepreneurs involving 36 countries slated for 22 – 24th of October 2014 in China in which Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana and Egypt are to represent Africa. But the Chinese Embassy here refused to grant the student visas to go to China.
The Ekiti State University students, who were picked to represent Nigeria having won the ENACTUS National Competition earlier in the year that held between July 14 - 18 in Lagos, ahead of the teams from Kaduna Polytechnic (2nd) and Ahmadu Bello University (3rd) (to which I proudly belong (:), are protesting in an open letter about the situation.
