President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday forwarded the names of two new ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The nominees, Chinedu Nebo from Enugu State and Kabiru Tanimu from Kebbi State, are to fill the open federal cabinet slots for both states.
Tanimu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, contested the 2011 governorship elections, on the platform of the ACN, in Kebbi State but decamped, along with the CPC candidate, on the eve of the Supreme Court ordered governorship re-run election, to the PDP.
If his name is approved, he is to replace Bello Mohammed, who was sacked by President Goodluck Jonathan as Minister of Defence last year.
The other appointee, Mr. Nebo, a Professor of Metallurgical Engineering, is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State and will take the slot of former Minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji.
