Jay-Z And Timbaland Celebrate New Roc Nation Deal

Roc Nation, home to artists like J.Cole and Rita Ora, is welcoming super producer Timbaland to the family. Jay-Z revealed his company’s new addition on his “Life & Times” blog yesterday (January 30) with a photo of them two hanging in the studio. To stay in sync with Justin Timberlake’s comeback single “Suit & Tie," which features Timbaland’s track-defining beat, Jay is wearing a suit and tie (sans jacket) in the pic.
For the past two decades, Timbaland has worked with some of the biggest names in the game including:
Janet Jackson, Usher, Nas, Eminem, No Doubt, and M.I.A. to name a few. In his early years, Tim’s work helped to launch the careers of Jodeci and Aaliyah. He’s also collaborated with Jay on some of his biggest hits including “Big Pimpin’,” from Vol. 3 (1999), “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” from The Black Album (2003) and “Off That” featuring Drake from The Blueprint 3 (2009). With their history of success it’s no wonder the rapper decided to bring Tim into the fold.
Earlier this month, Timbaland released “The Party Anthem” which features his longtime collaborator Missy Eilliot as well as Lil Wayne and T-Pain. So far, the Virginia-born producer is making his mark on the New Year. What’s next? Well, last year Tim told MTVNews that he and Missy had new projects slated to be released simultaneously. He said that he doesn’t want “to move too ahead of her” so they’re doing it at the same time.
