Protests in Jigawa Over Lamido's Arrest

Information coming from Jigawa indicates that all might not be well Jigawa State. This is according to information from our correspondent in Dutse, Jigawa State which  indicates that youths in Jigawa State took to thestreets of Dutse today in protest over the arrival of the agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to Jigawa to continue their investigation of the Jigawa State government.

The protesting youths who addressed  the public following the end of the protest – told the public that they were also protesting the arrest of the son of the Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido. They stated that tge presence of the agents of EFCC was politically motivate by the presidency – in his ill fated quest to intimidate his political foes. They asked for the presidency to desist from it political witch hunt – or face the possibility of a widespread unrest in the country.

It is recalled that the Governor of Jigawa State was among the rebel PDP governor's that staged a walk out of the PDP convention – and has gone on to stage a parallel party to the Jonathan led PDP. The action of the part of the rebel governors have resulted in retributive witch hunt by the presidency.
