President Jonathan nominates 5 EFCC board members

President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated five persons; Barr. Micheal Ebong , Uwasomba Udochukwu, Emmanuel Ibitolu, Dr Ismaila Mohammed Dukku, and Adesojo Olaoba-Efuntayo, into the board of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC .
In a letter he sent to the Senate President, David Mark, he said the appointments were pursuant to the provisions of section 2(3) of the EFCC Act which provides for the appointment of the chairman and members of the commission.
In a similar letter, President Jonathan requested for the confirmation of appointment of two members of the
Federal Judicial Service Commission.

The appointees are Hajiya Fatima Kwaku and Mr Olumuyiwa Akinboro.
The appointment, he said was in line with section 154 sub-sections 1 and 3 and paragraph 12 of part 1 to the third schedule of the 1999 constitution as amended, which provide for the appointment of two persons, each of whom has been qualified to practice as a legal practioner in Nigeria for 15 years.

According to President Jonathan, the nominees were chosen from a list of not less than four persons, who are qualified and recommended by the Nigeria Bar Association to be appointed as members of the Federal Judicial service commission, after having consulted the council of state.
