Dele Giwa’s Mother Dies at 87

Madam Elekia Ayisat Giwa, mother of slain journalist , Dele Giwa, is dead.


Madam Giwa died at age 87 at Aruna Ogun Hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos on Tuesday morning of an undisclosed ailment.

Before her death, she was living with her daughter, Mrs. Abibat Ronke Aboaba.

She died at 5a.m.

Her son was a celebrated journalist and the founding editor of Newswatch magazine.

He was murdered by unknown persons via a letter bomb delivered to his house in Ikeja on October 19, 1986.
