A report reaching us has it that, Enebeli Enebuwa has died. He died in the early hours of today (Wednesday December 5th) in the hospital in India where he was flown to, a few months ago by the Delta State government to receive treatment for an ailment.
Former Actors' Guild President, Segun Arinze, confirmed the report of the veteran actor, who passed on at the age of 65.
The PRO of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Frank Dallas, described the veteran actor as a friend, brother and veteran that will be greatly missed by both colleagues and the Nollywood community as a whole.
He said, "He fought gallantly. He was a great actor. We all called him Andrew but unfortunately, he has checked out.
"We thank the Delta State Government which stood by him. We also thank the Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo, for his efforts."
Elebuwa has been battling with an undisclosed illness that had kept him bedridden for some time.
Elebuwa was well known for the role he played as Andrew in a campaign by the Federal Government in the 80s to discourage Nigerians from fleeing the country.
More details to come later...
