The Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, has disclosed that its national convention for the ratification of the proposed merger with other parties that will lead to the formation of the All Progressives Congress will hold on May 11.
National Publicity Secretary of the CPC, Engineer Rotimi Fashakin, announced this on Monday in Abuja.
He said that the convention will take place at the Old Parade Ground, in the nation's capital.
Merging with another political party is a major decision and the nation's law has made it imperative that a political party must hold a convention to ratify it" Fashakin said.
The spokesman recalled that one of the parties to the merger, the Action Congress of Nigeria, has fulfilled its own part of the bargain by holding a convention that ratified the merger.
The All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, also part of the proposed merger is expected to hold its convention in a few weeks.
