Car Veers Off Third Mainland Bridge, Plunges Into Lagoon

According to reports from  social media brand Giditraffic, a Toyota Sienna lost control whilst speeding on Third Mainland Bridge this morning and has plunged into the Lagos Lagoon.

The accident has caused gridlock traffic in Lagos as motorists parked their cars on both sides of the key bridge in order to get a closer look at the accident.

The onlookers have resisted attempts by Police and LASTMA to disperse them from the scene.

As at the time of the filing of this report, no confirmation has been made on the number of casualties.

A rescue boat from the Lagos State Waterways Agency is joining local fishermen in attempts to rescue or recover any casualties.
