Loom Republic's Adrenaline Fashion Show, Zaria

This is majorly a critique of the event. Hopefully, others will learn from their mistakes.

Kudos to the organisers for bring to us a unique event that has been much needed in this otherwise fashionless Zaria. It made me sit up and realize that Zaria has a few hidden talent, with emphasis on 'few'.

The event was slated for 6.00 pm, but didn't start till around 8.00 pm or there about. The hall (blueroof) was 'manageably' decorated but had great lighting. For once in their lives, ABU ladies and a few gents didn't fall my hand. A lot of ladies were sporting 6 inches heels, even though quite a number looked awkward trying to navigate the room in them. For the guys, whether some of them didn't realize that fashion shows are considered formal events, they were sporting some weird ensembles of t-shirts, three quaters, etc. (*whew* Thank God I didn't see those dreadful carrots).

After the event finally started, hosted by @Skechito, i think and former miss university, Topsy (i guess), it was with high, and for some, low expectations, which obviously left some disappointed and others happy. You don't wanna know where I fall.

The performances were few but were well spaced. The dancers were *shrug*, and Snow was snow (which means boring, in case you were wondering) Can't even remember who the other singer was ( he was thaaaat boring).

For the designers, Dimexx Clothing's was probably the most memorable. Thats probably because it was the most unique. Forget the shouting Abusites were giving the designs; like I usually tell people, Abusites are an easy crowd to please. Loom republic were good and somewhat creative. Swish Clothing (hope thats the name) and one or two other designers left me wondering if just printing on t-shirts now makes you qualified to be a fashion designer. Sure some big designers sew some regular clothes and put their brand name on it, they hardly ever showcase such on the fashion runways. There was one designer (the one with Kala as a designer) who only showcased three designers, two of which looked generic (for you english challenged people, in dis context means something that can be found in any clothing store). Nothing unique about it. The last designer they were all hyping (scam) was just creative with his printing on the clothes; everything about his designs were mediocre.

Can't really remember the rest, but WTF was with all the see-through mishaps; I saw more than my share of bras. Also, do not be deceived by Abusites shouting because sometimes, they were just screaming for the models, which are popular peeps. One more thing, an advice to models (especially the male models), never look or behave confused, flow with any mistake you make and we'll probably think its part of the show. For the female models, you are to look expressionless, bored even; never sassy or haughty (check d meaning yourselves).

That's all I can remember about the show for now; maybe i'll update it if i get new details. All in all, it was a good and much needed show. Hopefully, i'll get the official pics. Watch this space.
