Not less than ten children of indigent Nigerians including British American Tobacco Iseyin Agronomy (BATIA) have been given scholarship awards to study in some Nigerian universities.
The scholarship scheme which started eight years ago was given to the students based on their academic performance.
According to Mr. Hugo Norman, Demand Chain General Manager, West Africa area, explained that selection of the students was a rigorous exercise.
The students who are 18 years and above were picked from Delta, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Imo States.
According to him, the candidates, after scoring 70 per cent in their various institutions were made to go through interview where ten were finally picked.
However, to continue enjoying the scholarship, the winners must have 3.5 grade points at each level.
Congratulations to the winners!
