The son of Sokoto state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mukhtari Shehu Shagari, Lukman is dead. Lukman died in a ghastly motor accident along Zaria- Kaduna road around 2.00 pm on Thursday. THISDAY gathered that the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road and landed in a ditch.
The deceased, who was the second son of the deputy governor died on the spot at the age of 26. The late lukman was buried yesterday in accordance with Islamic rites in Shagari local government area of Sokoto state.
The deceased was survived by one wife and a son. Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, Kebbi and Zamfara states deputy governors, Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu and Ibrahim Wakala Mohammed attended the funeral prayers held at the residence of former president Shehu Shagari. Special prayers were held by clerics in the state for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
