Hamza Al-Mustapha Discharged & Acquitted By Appeal Court

Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late General Sani Abacha was on Friday discharged and acquitted by the Court of Appeal Lagos over the 1996 murder of  Alhaja Kudirat Abiola. The appellate court upturned the January 30 verdict of the Lagos High Court which had earlier sentenced the appellant to death by hanging.

In the Appeal Court's verdict, the lower court was accused of being "stroked to secure a conviction by all means".
